Hey guys just wondering how comparable would say a gen3 ls15.7ltr v8 in a 1750kg vy SS ute and a 253-308 in a 1450kg HG kingswood?

Would the power to weight ratio be similar or the new technology would simply be far more superior and powerful?

Ive sussed out the going rates for a full LS1 kit up and its pretty expensive t osay the least, what would be the average cost of getting a complete running 253 out of one car and into my car ready to go all simple and what not.

depending what you want to do with the 253/308 you would probably spend more than the ls1 conversion would cost i have used the 308 on numerous times in cars that i have had in different configurations and none come close to the power that a good ls1 makes i currently have a series 2 vt corsa special vehicle which has over 300 kw with plenty more to come from it i could easily get up 350 kw and more before doing a bigger rebuild . it also comes down to your budget and what you intend on doing with the car but i would recommend going the extra mile with the ls1

i wouldnt attempt it but a good auto electrician should be able to knock it out dont know what they charge per hour as long as you have the wiring loom it should be pretty straight forward
