Hi guys, Im new to the forum

Ive got a 98 nl fairlane 4.0 litre, Prior to starting the car with acc turned on the oil pressure gauge light comes on and the needle reads zero. Is this somthing to worry about? as it never used to do. Also on idle the pressue goes up and down and with acceleration the pressure goes up? Is this normal? Im an apprentice and dont have much $ so any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks 98lowlane

sorry but i just got to make sure i read that right, your asking if its normal not to have oil pressure when the motors not running? if so of course its normal, the motors not running so of course the oil pump isnt moving

its normal for a warm motor to have a lower oil pressure when idling then when reving
