instead of pinning to the head, how about using studs rather than bolts.

Something like a modified socket shoulder screw with a thread at both ends?

I am already using studs. I would need to make some bushes to match the 3/8" studs to the 12mm holes in the plates. Either bushes or pins will work so long as each plate stays with the port it is matched to.

Basic profile machining of the wiper motor mounts complete. 9 pieces here all machined together to ensure consistency.

Wiper kits complete. First batch all sold. If you're interested in one let me know. I should have more made in a few weeks time. Complete kit as shown with a used motor is $250 or $320 with a new Genuine Holden motor. Postage is $20 Australia wide via EXPRESS POST.

Everything ready for the 4th variation of the exhaust system on the EH



Layout will go something like this



3" electric exhaust cutout. This allows me to run a straight through short exhaust for show purposes.





3" Dynomax VT muffler uses an internal valve to bypass the main restrictions/dampening chambers in the muffler once a predetermined flow has been reached. This means that it is quiet at low rpm and less restrictive at higher rpm.





I machined a recess into the dump pipe fitting to allow the insertion of a steel blanking plate. with this installed the dump pipe cannot leak through the valve.

I made myself a pair of wheel spacers. Purely for the learning exercise, teaching myself how to use the mill.

Exhaust FINALLY finished. Took 2 goes to get it right. I still need to install it with gaskets and sealant. I also need to run the wiring through the floor and wire a switch to operate the cutout.

Exhaust finally finished. Dump pipe hangs a bit low however it will be removed for street use.

I discovered the cutout leaks slightly even when closed. So I made a cap that can be fitted to the dump pipe fitting when the car is being driven on the road.

Thanks Trev, yep it's an obsession that I enjoy. There are lots of things that can be done and redone and one day I will get to them.

I had to redrill another seat bracket bolt as it was a more convenient location for the exhaust cutout wires to pass through.




Bolt reinstalled and awaiting the wiring



Exhaust cutout wires fitted and ready for connection. The switch will be hidden in the console compartment.

New coil over front end power power steering ordered for my EH. This should bring the suspension and handling into the 21st Century.





New wheels and tyres ordered for my EH. 18x7 and 18x8 Weld Racing RT-S74. Hopefully the look good on the car.

The front end is from Southern Chassis Works and comes with all engineering documentation needed.

I found a solution for my steering shaft conversion that will be needed when I change to the BMW power rack. SCW modify a Borgeson uni joint to fit the rack and accept 3/4" DD steering shaft. Borgeson now make a uni joint that adapts 3/4" DD shaft to the standard Torana 9/16" cotter pin setup. This means my steering column can stay as it is and all I need is a length of 3/4" DD shaft which I will get when I get my rack conversion..

I wasn't going to pay $100 for a piece of 3/4" DD steering shaft as I think it's too expensive. This 1.2m length of 3/4" bright steel cost me $9.45. All I have to do is machine 2 flats on each end and it's done. Here it is with the new universal joint fitted..
