Hi Guys and Gals, Would anyone know what it would cost to have the rack and pinion steering from a VP Commodore shortened. One guy was telling me recently some places have exchange units available already made up to suit different applications. Regards Sally.

Sorry I forgot to add its for a HT front end and its going in a 1939 Plymouth 5 window coupe.

Are VP racks power steer? If so I'm under the impression they can't be shortened?

A mate told me about ROD TECH. He used one of their rack conversions in his FX. Rear mounted rack on a HR front end. Came complete with mounts and tie rod conversion knuckles. Sump does have to be modified to clear the rack however as his car is fitted w

Thanks Guys for the info, I'm lucky with the 253 in the Plymouth as the engine sits back from the front end and not over it as it originally was.
