You learn something new every day.
I didn't know that a 307 inlet manifold was the same as the one on a 327.

I like that car, couple of things seem not quite right though.
My car is March '68 Brisbane built and this car is Jan '69 yet it's engine number is only 1150 or so later than mine? The numbers between would have included Monaro, Premier, Kingswood and of course Brougham.
The number he say's were built does seem to be Brisbane figures.
And to be fair he does say that it has a Holley 4bbl carby fitted which would of course mean a 4bbl manifold as well, probably not that much difference in performance than a series 2 327.

Acacia Rideg made bugger all 307 powered cars hence the small increase in engine numbers. My August 1968 Acacia Ridge GTS327 (completed in 10/68 due to lack of 327 engines for this plant) has its engine number about 400 less than this so all about right. |

I was to believe all 307 HK's had a 2bbl Rochester fitted from factory.

Thanks Byron, I'd forgotten that you'd mentioned previously that the V8 engine numbers were running and differed only in prefix.
They must have had a bit of a spurt at the start or did they start somewhere other than 00001 and when were the numbers stamped on?

Acacia Ridge Chev started at 00001. They probably made a fair few up front for HK release. Also would have included Pontiacs and Chevs built at that plant. Not 100% sure when numbers went on but it wouldn't have been that long before they went into a car. |
