The body and the tags are all Dandenong so that is OK, but I cannot guarantee you they all belong together. You'd need to get the ID and chassis number either directly to the Holden Monaro Register or to someone who can send it for you to confirm that (aside from some fluke) the tags belong together. I can send the details on for you if you PM me the details, a few others here probably can too. This process will also tell you an approx build timeframe. You can't tell if it was a 6 or 8 cyl from the tags. For a HK the location of the speedo cable hole in the firewall will tell you this. If there is a second approx 22mm hole just below and towards the passenger's side of the wiper motor "lump" it is a V8 HK. The hole is normally rough punched after body assembly. The 6cyl hole is in all bodies and it is just towards the passenger side of the brake booster mount. On a V8 car it has a blank speedo cable grommet in it. If it is a V8 then there are other signs on the tunnel to tell if it is a manual or auto. Most V8 GTS's will have a 10-bolt diff so they'll have the clearance hump along the front edge of where the fuel tank bolts in. Some auto V8 HK GTS's had banjos though, especially early ones. |

I'm no HK expert, but given that both the chassis and body no. are close and the PSN is at J139xxx which is 39xxx vehicles down the Melb line since the start of 68 IMHO there is a 99% chance they are matching. |

There is no such thing as matching tags on a HK, some people like to stretch the idea of "matching tags" to include "the numbers in the service manual match the numbers on the car" true but not really what matching numbers are all about IMHO.
You can have tag numbers that are in the same ball park as the body number or maybe not if the vehicle was completed in a different factory to where the body was made. The lines are very blurry and to my mind confirmed data is confined to cars on the Monaro register and cars with original paperwork or a rego history to back the numbers up.
For the rest it is up to the individual to check out and satisfy themselves, look for things like tags never having been removed if the car hasn't been restored etc. Or ask the guy's this forum whether all the numbers on the car are in the same timeline, without paperwork that's about the best you'll get on the average HK.

Sorry to but into the conversation but I have a similar question
I am looking at checking these Monaro tags but the owner will only give me these numbers to verify they match. Is this enough numbers or do I need them all?
big tag HK837M-14_ _ _ B
small tag 81837KH11_ _ _ _
fire wall HK 15_ _ _ B

They are all from the same location, ie the body number and chassis number are from the Acacia Ridge body plant and the VIN is from the Acacia Ridge assembly plant, so that is a start at least. |

You can't confirm they match with all numbers. All you can tell is if they don't match. You will never know for certain if they are 100% original to each other, but the margin for error is pretty slim as there are so many recorded now. Note that there were bugger all HK GTS327's built in Acacia Ridge so the chances of them not belonging together if they fit amonst others are slim. The biggest concern nowadays is remade tags, but these are relatively easy to spot if you get high res photos of the tags. |

If the seller is not willing to give you the numbers of a car he is trying to sell then walk away. Plenty of other cars out there. This whole misguided "I must protect my numbers" is just pure BS.
What can one possibly do with a set of ID tag numbers?

No difference, Holden mass produced cars and most parts are the same across the board.
