Has anyone purchased / fitted the rare spares HT monaro rear window filler panel (the piece between the boot and the rear windscreen). I have to replace mine and the rare spares one appears out at the ends (ie. sits up too high) and won't match up with the rear quarters. Mine has a sticker on it stating it was made in 2008 so maybe they have been redone since this time? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. |

OMG! a rare spares panel that doesnt line up?? are you sure. maybe your car is twisted take it back & exchange for another one their inner guard sections for hktg vary heaps. 1 in 10 is a reasonable fit, regards DD www.bellarineclassicautos.com.au

Alex, I am concerned to hear you think there may be a problem with the rear window filler panel you are considering fitting to your Monaro. We have fitted these ourselves a number of times and have not had any issues. In fact we used one on "Joan's Monaro", an HG Monaro we did a rebuild on for it's pensioner owner after it was stolen and recovered after an extensive public awareness campaign by some of the Melbourne radio stations. The finished vehicle was featured in a number of magazines at the time. We are searching our archives for photos of the fitted panel and will post them when we find them. If you would care to advise where you are located maybe we can get some-one to help you through the issues, failing that please give Lance a call on 03 9305 4000 to see how we can help from this end. Davo, with regard to your comments re the HK-T-G lower guard sections we retooled both side inners and outers mid last year and having fitted them ourselves and having provided others to various customers to test fit we are confident they fit and fit well. If you would care to make the time to visit us I would be happy to show you the finished product as we still have the fenders and the Monaro they were fitted to at our R&D factory. Cheers Dave Ryan Rares Melb.

Hi all, Further to this post, as promised we have had one of our repro filler panels fitted to the HK Monaro we have here. The panel beaters fitted it earlier today and had no problems doing so, in fact one of them commented. "It went on easily with no hocus- pocus". By that I took him to mean it went on without too much juggling around or modification. We have recorded the process and will be posting the video on Youtube tomorrow. I will post the link as soon as it is on. Davo, I haven't heard from you since you last said you would drop in. Perhaps if you can make the time it would be an ideal oportunity to inspect the GTS wheels and this panel. Cheers Dave

Watched the vid and it was interesting to watch the repro panel get fitted as intended.. Would be great to see more RSP how-to-fit demonstrations on the net for your other products, maybe you could upload more as the project progresses?

Every panel is so easy to fit. I can do it real easy. Do it every day. Just takes time. |

ahhh yes yes peter, wrong wording, instead of saying "so easy" i probably should have said "so quick" takes me at least 20 mins to find my sockets to remove the bolts holding the bootlid on!! you are right, its straightforward just talks time
