will a VS wagon fuel pump fit a VR sedan fuel tank?

thanks terry. this is the 3rd or 4th one i have seen die because it ran out of fuel. anyone else noticed this?

yes, it's common, the pump needs fuel to lubricate it, if there's no fuel there's no lube so it burns out

it VERY common in cars fitted with gas, people don't use petrol so don't have fuel in the tank, the pump won't last long without petrol in the tank

if the pump is left to dry out it CAN also be enough to damage the pump and make it's life MUCH shorter, so avoid second hand ones out of the car
