There are YT modified Holden heads, and YT "style" heads because it's a simple, effective style of mod that many porters used. YT used closed chamber heads with pedestal rockers and if the valves are original will have YT stamped on the face. It's thought YT/Perfectune developed the style originally for mass market but i know AJE in Greenacre, specifically Arthur himself was involved very early on in Red performance; rumour has it YT tried to get him on board. Typically the casting around the head bolts was cut out and replaced with a tube and the ports were opened up around the back of the throat with a plunge cutter then mildly smoothed. Not strictly true davo. There are many 1971 HG 161 & 186 engines fitted with the 281xxxx cast heads, but they are machined for the older style larger spark plugs & stud mounted rockers. I'm not sure when the later casting number was put into production, but my guess is Feb 71. Dr Terry |

all yella terra heads will have a date stamped on the back of them day - month - year.will have smaller stud post than a standard head at least half the size. if they don't they are not the real deal. Edited by user Sunday, 10 June 2012 9:49:30 PM(UTC)
