My VT Calais has movement in the front seat base, I have tracked it to a broken plastic/nylon bush on the drive mechanism. Holden do not sell them seperately. (whole seat base is over $500) Does anyone know of a place that makes replacement bushes for these seats?

You will find it a very common problem Warren. My new V2 does the same thing and so does one a guy has at work.

There are numerous 'fixes' on the forums, but all seem to point to a different problem.

I think you are correct about the nylon bush/washer thingy. I would be able to get them made as long as I knew what bit I am looking at. Was planning on heading down to a wreckers and see if I can look under the seats and see what bits I need.

Searched and searched on the forums, but none have got a picture that points to the problem in detail.

Let me know how you go.

Cheers

Easy fix guys, both my VT Calais & WH Statesman suffered the same problem.

Forget the bushes, just drill out the hole in the seat frame & fit 10mm diam. bolts & nyloc nuts in place of the 8mm pins.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

Thanks Terry, did not even think about doing that, seeing the trees through the forest.

Edelbrock, they are only on the full electric seats and you need to pull the seat out to see them.

When you have the seat out turn it over. There is a motor right at the front that has two drive cables, these go to two large threaded rods, one each side, that point rearward. At the front of these rods you will see a pin with a circlip. The bushes sit on that pin, two per side, they are a medium brown colour in a VT.

Hi guys?

Are these the things? Missus rekons her seat is doing it too. So I pulled it out for a look. But for the life of me I can not see any damaged bushes. Could there be movement even if the bushes look fine? Can the movemnet come from anywhere else??

Righto. This is not the problem with my seats. I can grab both seats and rock them back and forth about 5mm. Do this with my head down looking at the seat base and it isnt coming from these bushes. It looks like it is in the track somewhere.

Any ideas?

If no one can help, I think I am going to pull them out again and build a jig to mount the seat upside down. Then I will be able to rock the thing to see exactly where the movement is.

Thanks
