Hey all this is possibly a major noobie question but was just wondering if anybody knows why my fan is continuing to run after turning off the ignition (and I'm not talking the usual few minutes she'll run until the battery goes dead!) Had a good look through past forums but couldn't find anything specific - could this be a coolant temp sensor issue or possibly a problem with the fan relay?
Would really appreciate any advice prior to potentially being stung by my friendly neighbourhood Holden dealer haha!

If it was the fan relay then it would run as soon as you connected the re charged battery.
In saying that the contacts of the relay maybe partly welding and then releasing when cooling off. Very easy to swap a few relays around in the engine bay fuse/relay box (located next to the driver's guard) to determine this one.

as warren said try the relays first, the contacts have a habit of burning and they latch on

You totally nailed it guys it was the fan relay I was able to go down to the dealership and tell them what the problem was it was totally sweet haha and more than likely prevented me from receiving a hefty bill for a fix I didn't need this forum is awesome big thanks to petaus and WT for their response!!
