G'day fellas, just seeing if anyone can tell me if this booster is correct for my HK 307? It has VH316 on it. I have seen various different brackets on boosters and need to know if this one is correct for my car?

I'm going to have a closer inspection tomorrow and see if I can get some more numbers from it, as you can see I need to get through some of that surface rust.
Cheers, Glenn.

A VH316 is one of the booster numbers from the HK era & that one will fit your car as long as your brake pedal has 2 holes. This booster pushrod attaches to the lower hole.

That one has been played with though, probably during a reconditioning process. The m/cyl is a PBR aftermarket one but the booster originally had the relay lever type mount, which came from an early HK.

It doesn't matter unless you're after concours originality, it will still fit & work.

You better check what type of subframe is on your Monaro before using that booster bracket set up. Early HK subframes had no indent for the booster as they used the relay type booster bracket which made it offset. Later the bracket was changed to the one you have on yours and there was an indent in the subframe to allow for it. This is often overlooked when people are trying to source replacement subframes for their project.

Spot on Simon, I forgot about that point.

After turning my shed upside down over the last few days I finally dug out what I think is the booster I pulled from a 307 Brougham I wrecked many years ago. I'll get some pics up in the morning so you can let me know if it's the one I need as even though it's not a concourse resto, i'd like it to be as close to factory as I can get it.
Cheers, Glenn.

Greetings, The booster in the pictures is actually a 1970 and on model as it has the small hole for the new improved design check valve. The earlier versions had larger hole for the check valve. You can fit later valve to the earlier model booster with an adaptor grommet, but you can't fit an HK type valve (black, blue or white colour) to the booster in the picture unless you make the hole bigger. The booster in the pictures is most likely out of an HG.
look out, the guru is coming through...

Yeah that one is mate, it was pulled from a HG ute. Here's some pics of the one I pulled from the Brougham.

I've moticed the mounting bracket on this one is quite a bit different.
Will this one be OK to use?
Cheers, Glenn.

yes thats th correct one for all '68 HKs. i have reco ones on th shelf ready for c/over if interested

for originallity youl need a light blue check valve. (that white large one is for early HT.

incedently, th dent in RH inner skirt was introduced in march '68. so not even first 12weeks worth of HK had th one without
