Hey guys.

I plan on restoring a HQ Kingswood in January next year, so I'm doing my planning/research now. I've been told I should get a good book on bodywork, so are there any that you guys can suggest? Cheers.
No worries, mate.

Panel beating and body repairing / by Donald Wait

This is the book to get. I have met Donald and he is the most humble man who has the real passion to let people learn panel beating.

I look up to Donald as one of my mentors. I only wish I could be as good as him

It took a bit of thinking, but I knew I recognized your profile picture. It's that gorgeous EH with the supercharged red motor and the GH Sigma dash cluster. Absolutely beautiful car, is it yours by any chance?
No worries, mate.

I will admit to everything including the Sigma dash. I do have it, and in real life the dash looks good, but the dash has no 'wow I am a monster tacho' factor. I try to be a well rounded outcast.

Atleast you gave a Sigma a good use ;-)
The dash looks great in the pics, but I get what you mean. What's the car like to drive?
No worries, mate.

Smooth, warm heater, comfy soft but hugging seats, idles at 700 rpm, no tyres rub, steers well, suspension firm but not harsh, brakes nice and predictable.

The only thing I need to change is the accelerator pedal height. You feel like your foot is up too high when cruising on a long drive.

Sounds great, that shouldn't be hard to fix. My dad's EK ute had an accelerator like that, we had to put a wooden block on the floor to rest your foot on while driving, haha.

I might even put the guts of a Commodore into the Kingswood. Power steering, disc brakes, air con, 3.8L 6, and a T700 box. I love them just how they are, but the understeer and body roll gets frustrating.
No worries, mate.

That's excellent, I might look into it some more. I also meant to ask you if you had any pictures from the build of your EH? If not that's okay, it would be awesome to see though. Also thanks again Tony :-)
No worries, mate.
