Hi all, can anyone give me a reason for excessive water comoing from the exhaust pipe of a 202, or any car for that matter

What are you calling excessive? Blown head gasket if too much.

It may not be anything to be worried about.
At this time of the year, the exhaust system will absorb huge volumes of water vapor from the atmosphere, after switch-off as the system cools down. This is why mufflers have drain holes. When engine is started from cold, this water is blown out of the tailpipe by the exhaust flow. The more humid the weather, then the more water will be blown out.
Also in very humid or wet weather, the air going entering the engine's air intake contains a high % of water. This will go thru the combustion process & out the tailpipe.
Check your radiator coolant regularly & if you're not loosing coolant, it won't be an engine problem.
If you are loosing more coolant than you should, you problems could be blown gasket (as mentioned), a cracked head or block.
If in doubt, get a pro to check it, a chemical test of the cooling system will leave little doubt.

Sorry about the late reply guys, family crisis this weekend.

The vehicle was driven to sydney and back, round trip of 500ks without coolant loss, i took the rocker cover off today and i dont like the way its all milky, no water in the sump, but it doesnt look right to me

The vehicle has been in the shed the last six months and not run, except to get it to my place 5ks

I suppose i will just have to put the motor back in and see what happens, thanks for the advice guys cheers steve

Once again, if you're not loosing coolant & there is no coolant in the sump, you probably have nothing to worry about.

In cars not driven regularly, a milky build up in the rocker cover is commonplace, especially in cold &/or wet weather.

Thanks Dr Terry, yep im probably getting a bit paranoid about the water thing, very good advice about the welch plugs, they looked fine , but once removed they were paper thin.

Ive replaced all the gaskets now, and i will pick up a new ehaust manifold tommorow, found a crack in the one on the motor, ill put the motor back in tommorow night and take her for a test run, and let you guys know how it goes
