Did the S1 HK 327 come with a vinyl parcel shelf or without? My HK 327 doesnt have the vinyl but the standard coloured parcel shelf, same colour as the interior.

thanks

AFAIK all HK/T/G sedans & coupes just had the coloured board for the rear parcel shelf, without any vinyl covering. Not sure about Broughams.

Again, there is no such thing as a series 1 or 2 HK GTS 327, it is only a motor (& associated parts) change (type 1 or type 2 motor) & this occurred at a different time at each plant depending on when stockpiles of the old donk ran out.

All HK HT HG Premier/GTS/Brougham had vinyly covered parcel shelf boards. All Monaro (base model),Kingswood and Belmont were a pebble grain board that was painted the trim colour.

Thanks Dr Terry. I wish people wild stop referring to the early 327s as series 1 and the later 327s as series 2. It's TYPE 1 or TYPE 2 and as you say it's the engine that is the difference and not much else. Written VERY clearly at the bottom of at least the yellow or blue GMH parts books.....Jack

My error, I just checked several other cars around here & the 2 GTSs had vinyl & one of the Premiers had a vinyl-covered board, but strangely the first car I checked is a one owner unmolested (or so I thought) Premier which has the painted board.

There have been other exceptions, my old HK GTS racecar had a painted board also, I remember drilling thru it to mount the roll cage.
