Just a question guys,did all HQ Coupes come with headrest's or were there some that were not fitted from the factory?

The HQ head restraints were an option for all 1971 HQs. They became standard for all models in 1972 to comply with ADR22.

It looks like I will have to leave mine on to comply with the ADR law as it is a 72,I am getting the trim redone in july and was going to tell the trimmer not to worry about the headrest.

Just for information ---My 1973 Premier does not have head rests ? must have not put them on export cars . NZ assembled HQs never had them Mark.

Another one of those NZ things, no ADRs, no compliance plates etc. etc.

Yes no rules for NZ !! but it is strange that our first Torana , NZ assembled was LJ series 2 from late 1973 , and they had headrests as standard ? Mark.

Hi Terry , GMNZ made the first NZ assembled Torana in late 1973 , up untill then all our Toranas were CBU , they then went on into LH , LX & UC ( sunbird only ) Mark.
