Hi guys
helping a mate fit a th350 into a hx and have read that speedo cable hole in firewall has to be drilled.

Does anyone have a pic or explain exactly where it needs to be?

Cheers

Best to go looking at a factory TH400 car yp see where the hole is, and then you'll find a little guide dimple in that spot to show you where to place the holesaw. From memory it is a 32mm hole, and you'll have to do it before the engine goes in. The cable also gets supported by a clip that screws through the floor on the passenger side. I can probably get you a scan of a parts catalogue showing you the support, but you'll need to view a car to find the spot for the firewall hole.

I have since found out from a business that does heaps of these conversions that the original hole is the way to go.

I've tried that and the speedo tends to shake due to the tight angles on the cable.

I had a TH400 in my HQ, used the original (202 Trimatic) hole and never had any problems.

Luck of the draw I guess.
