Car has been totally stripped and I am now assembling it. I fitted the near side rear QTR window and after hours of trying different adjustments, came to a happy medium.Started on the off side window and everything I learn t on the near side went out the window (pardon the pun)Any tips or hints will be greatly appreciated.

This should help. I followed these instructions when I did mine with a bit of trial and error added. Attach everything loosely then start to tighten each of the adjusters one at a time and watch what they do to the window. After I knew what does what, I progressively tightened things, wound the window up, observed what was happening (eg too low at the front or too high at the back or not centered in the opening etc) and, depending on what I saw, adjusted the relevant nut. Its a pain but it can be done.

Hey Squeek327,
Thanks for your reply, I have that page and installed everything quite easily, just am having a hard time adjusting the window. Spent half of Saturday playing around and making notes of what happens when I adjust different adjusters. Also noted that the upper window rubber channel can be moved if needed. Where did you end up positioning the base of the window when it is wound up? Closer to the outer rubber, midway etc?

Scet, on mine, when the window is in the down position, the centre of the top edge of the glass is virtually dead centre of the opening.
Also, in the down position, the inside face of the glass is just touching the inner weather belt and there is a gap between the outer face of the glass and the outer weather belt of approx 5mm.

Cool mate,
What about when it is up? I'm thinking of wind noise here.

Sorry I did not answer your original question very well. When up, the inner belt still sits against the glass but the outer one does not. That might seem odd but what happens is that in the fully up position, the outer weather belt partially overlaps the rubber strip at the base of the glass so you don't actually end up with any gap between the glass and the body. In the up position, the base of the glass is still approx in the centre of the opening. I found that if you have the base of the glass too far towards the outside of the body, because the glass is curved, when you go to wind it up the top edge of the glass is too close to the inside of the car and won't sit in the upside down 'L' of the upper seal - it wants to squash the upper seal rather than sit in it.
