Hi everyone was hoping someone here knew what this engine code was for on a Vk excop car, has a 304 in it and appears to be factory Heres a picture of the compliance plate http://oldholden.com/node/103569

Nov '85 VKs had only 2 V8 options:
LV2 (auto 304) = VA engine prefix (auto only).
V7X (manual 304) = VG engine prefix (manual only).
There were still the odd VB prefix engines popping up in post-August '85 VKs (also coded LV2) but these were manual only.
Look at the 5th letter of the small VIN tag near the bonnet catch - this letter matches the 2nd letter of the engine prefix.
In Australian VKs, you could get:
A = auto 304 (LV2)
B = manual 304 (LV2)
C = Group A 304 (LV2 & A9L)
G = manual 304 (V7X)
T = manual/auto 308 (L31)
L = 3.3L carby 6 (L14)
K = EFI 3.3L 6 (LL9)
I would suggest that LV6 on the tag is a misprint, as it should be LV2 |

Is that VIN correct off oldholden?
I punch in your vin on Holdens EPC and it shows not a valid VIN
LV6 shows up as :Engine gas 1.8lt (1.8-8) MFI 1.8-8 (LV6)
