Gday guys,
Just cleaning out the shed the other day - came across a pair of sb chev doulble hump fullie heads from an old project & was wondering if you could id the casting numbers stampted in between the valve springs on them etc....
Head 1 = 3917291 (H237) GM18.
Head 2 = 3917291 (L217) GM4.
Many thanks..... |

My records have that cast number as:
'67-69: 302 290hp (2.02/1.6 valves). 327 250hp, 275hp and 300hp (1.94/1.5 valves). 327 325hp and 350hp (2.02/1.6 valves). 350 295hp (1.94/1.5 valves).
Being July and November (or December - I can't remember if Chev had dropped the I by that stage) they'll most likely be off 1968 model large journal engines (which I think started in 9/68).
All are 63.9cc.
