I'm trying to find out when the Canadian gts rims finished , I have oct 1973 dated rims and wanting to know. I know they have a different shape and something to do with the welds. Cheers

The Monaro bible says 1973, but no closer than that.

The Canadian wheels were phased out in 1973 and replaced with American made items that continued into early 1974. At the same time, local ROH made wheels were also fitted to cars. You have the interesting situation where two differnet wheels were fitted at the same time. It would be importnat to have all 5 wheels matching.

The date codes and application for the Canadian wheels are found around the valve stem hole on the rim. From memory, I think some codes are on the rim and the tyre must be removed to see them.

You obviously know that the imported wheels were different colours to the ROH ones.

What wheel nuts are you using to fit them?
