After leads on where to buy a a nos or good delco remy 6 pin ignition switch or which eqiuvalent usa chev or buick etc used the same switch. |

Recently I spent a fair while Googling this switch, trolling through all the US suppliers I could find and did not find a switch with the same pin layout, found some to be close but no cigar. Did GMH import or did they have them made to spec locally?
Looking forward to seeing if anyone can answer this one.

Yes Delco Remy switches in Holdens were imported from the states. By the hg most of the parts were Aussie content but there were still some imported parts. Old Auto Electrician mate said that some Chevs had the same switches, but he can't remember which year. |

The yanks went to combined steering/ign lock in 1969 from memory.
Before that, dash mounted ign locks were the go.
Try looking for a 1968 or earlier ign switch. |

Greetings, That would be the case as the HG Holden ones (and back to earlier models in some cases) were local copies of U.S. parts. Holden tried hard to make a lot of the parts in their cars unique. The only ignition switch that will do in an HG is a Holden HK-G switch. Nothing from overseas will work in exactly the same way. |
