Im not 100% on this but if the seven digit carby number ends in an odd number, does that mean its a manual carby and an even number would mean an auto carby?

Ive got a 7041281 ZE 0611 (I think manual 1971 carby) but the vacuum port is bellow the throttle so I'm confused. Shouldnt the vacuum be ported above the throttle body on a manual carb?

Thanks

7041281 ZE is the original HQ 308 manual carby. 7041282 ZF is the 308 auto carb. If you need a ZF I can do you a swap if you like as I have a few of them.

Na its ok, if its wrong I'll just take it back.

The guy I bought it from said its definately an auto carby because the vacuum port is located bellow the throttle plates. So I guess its a manual carby and someones installed an auto throttle body on it. Is that the only difference with auto and manual quadies?

To look at yes. The jets and metering rods might differ too, can't remember. It is only pre canister carbies where auto and manual are different numbers, after that they are the same as ported vacuum is required to operate the canister so all carbies have the ported vacuum port, not just manuals.
