No, not from the factory anyway.

All HQ SSs came in the one mechanical spec - L32/M20/GV2, dual exhaust, front disc brakes, GTS rims, radial tyres & manual steer. There was no air cond, radio or electric windows etc., although they did get, front bucket seats, carpets, sports instruments & steering wheel.

They were essentially a dressed-up Belmont V8 built to a Motor Show special price.

Power steer and air conditioning etc was sometimes fitted to HQ SS's by Holden dealers, but not factory fitted.

The integrated air cond & country pack would also have been dealer fitted.

Factory fitted air-con could take up to 3-months when ordered by a customer, so most people opted for dealer fitted air-con, usually 2-weeks. I have seen 2 types of air-con :

1. An under-dash unit plumbed from a smallish condenser mounted on top of the block (253).
2. An integrated model plumbed into the dash via a twin vented crash-pad. This had a massive AC Delco condenser that used to, on occasion, stall less powered cars, and a huge heater-cooler box mounted on the firewall (unmistakeable)
