Hi Guys am thinking of getting some new mags for my SS Chevrolet (HG Monaro) anyone know what back space I am after and the maximum rim sizes that will fit, any suggestions on what mags would suit would be apreciated also, favourites so far are Convo pros or Centrelines. Thanks in advance
Pete

I have 8" rears with 245/60's, 105mm backspace. these clear the tramp rods no problems but can touch on the outside with a load.
235/60 fronts on 7's with 105mm backspace no problems with "factory low" King springs.

Anyone have a pair of 9" early Holden Hotwires with 110mm or so backspace for sale?

regards

Cheers for the info, just so confusing and half the tyre/wheel blokes either don't know or can't be bothered with our old girls or want $3500 for a set of wheels. Are your wheels 14 or 15 inch?
As always thanks :)

Sorry, 14". I recon you could get away with 8's all round with 50 series tyres, or even 9's on the rear if you can find the 100 - 110mm backspace wheels.

Cheers Quarter Horse, your a great help. I aactually have some 15s on atm and really love the mags (they came from South Africa)but the fronts scrape the guards and the rears hang out 2-3 inches so will check their back space etc. Whilst having a chat with a couple of work colleagues yesterday one of them mentioned how one tyre stuck out more than the other so finally bit the bullet and ordered some new rear springs, bushes U-bolts etc. Have been meaning to do it for a while now so once I replace those will be measuring up to see all is square then with tyres off will measure everything.Saw a couple of nice Monroes on Face book with tubbed rears and 5 inch fronts and would love to do it but think in WA it is not allowed but geez they look fantastic and are still nice and low. Thanks again great people and great site here.
