I don't have any ignition light s in lx Torana any suggestion as to where to start looking but does start and run ok

First thing I'd do is check the bulb.

The ignition light is wrongly named, it's actually the generator (alternator) light.

As colt said it could be the globe, but it's probably easier to check the fuse & also make sure that the brown wire is securely connected at the rear of the alternator.

The fault could be one of several things but the simplest test is to disconnect the brown wire at the alternator & run it to earth. Turn the ignition on & the globe should light up. If it doesn't you have a dashboard wiring or globe fault. If it does you have an alternator fault.
