The following are some questions I have.
What are the part numbers in rocker covers? Where do they originate from? are they short or tall? and does anyone have them or where can I get them??
There was a set on ebay not long ago and they went for about $400
I believe they are corvette type 7 fin aluminum covers but that's all I know
The alternator bracket I could do with some help as well and any other info, facts and or specifics with the HQ 350 will be immense help for me.

AFAIK, ther rockers are a Corvette item. They should be available from the USA. When I built my 350, I was running pwr steer, so I went for the "high mount" alternator mount. I bought the top bracket,it bolts to one bolt on the thermostat housing, and one on the water pump. The bottom mount, the one the alternator pivots on is a long bolt that screws into the drivers side cyl head.The front of the bolt is supported by a bracket that bolts onto the water pump I made a spacer for the bolt to get the correct spacing from the cyl head, and used a couple of washers as shims for final positioning. http://www.google.com.au..._AUoAA&biw=1680&bih=937

On ebay there is a bloke selling cd's with the HQ parts catalogue on them. All the part numbers for any part on HQ's are in it. There is also times when the parts catalogues the dealers service departments used, selling on ebay. Two on there at the moment. I have both catalogue and cd and when I'm after a part, you retrieve the part number from the book, go to google, type something like "gm part ******, * being the part number, and it is amazing how many hits you will get. Companies still use the same part numbers today or if they have their own part number, they will usually have the original number with it.
Regarding the rocker covers, you can purchase them off ebay, bit expensive though, swap meets which is a better place to buy as you can look at them, or buy them from the states new. You can also buy the rubber grommets in the cover, alloy sticker which goes into the circle on the cover, rubber oil caps. Google does hold alot of your answers.

Thanks so much guys
The replies about the mounting solutions and the directions to where to look have given me a good start point to follow through on.
I have seen a few LT1 corvette and camaro rocker covers on ebay from the US that look similar but with varying part numbers. I'll also need a heap of other part numbers as well, so those cd's will be a good guide.
