Someone trying sell an alledged X2 says it has a D stamped on the I.D plate which makes it an X2......Sounds like bulls*** to me.

Taurus feces it is !!

I believe that the D appearing in this fashion on the body ID plate, is only seen in HR production. GM-H were trialling different type of paint in that era & the D signifies that a certain type of paint (or paint line) was used on that car.

You will see plenty of non-X2s with D on the plate & likewise plenty of genuine X2s with no D on the plate.

Geniune original with books, correct motor and in show condition I would estimate 15 to 25 thousand. 186s 4 speed a bit more if you could get someone to part with it. Best way to get a good one is to join a HD/HR club and let it be known what your after.

I also found a 67 Premier in S.A and had it inspected by a club member in who advised the owner of what he thought it was worth 8 to $10,000
So i asked the owner what he wanted.....his reply 'offers above $15,000' i couldn't stop laughing for 5 minutes. The car was ok structuraly but needed 4 new doors, 2 new guards, new paint and new interior.....

For that sort of coin you'd be way better off with a car like this:

Mightn't be your cup of tea but a good reality check for a $40k 186S HR!
