Hello forum. I know I've bothered youse before but I need your help. I have an HZ Tonner and I'd like some info on it as I'm contemplating selling. The chassis no is BHZ18914A. The small tag reads 8M60THL431003Z.
The big tag reads Model-HZ8W M 60
Body no-413003-A
Trim-1926-63V
Paint-568-30517
Eng L31
Trans M41
R/Ax GV4
It's non original engine no is Qu4052 K02 10H. Can GMH give me some proof of these numbers on paper like Ford does? Thanks again Fastlaners.

What do you need proof of? It is all there on the plates. 308, TH400, 3.36:1 diff. The only thing the plates or GMH can't tell you is an Ambulance pack (special vehicle package code BO6). It'll have been column shift, possibly buckets, Premier front end, doortrims and armrests. Many have U17 dash. Some got A/C but none with steer. Some didn't get RTS either.

Engine is from a HQ GTS350 but I think you are missing a number between the U and the K.

Hello HK. I'd like to know where it was sold new. And which state had red ambulances. Are they built on van chassis? It has the twin h/l front, Prem door trims but bench seat and taxi dash. Any and all info would be much appreciated.

They are not built on a van chassis. A One-Tonner chassis is 6.4 inches (163 mm) longer in the wheelbase & has much beefier rear springs.

I own one of these, almost a twin for yours also in Flamenco Red, except mine has a GTS instrument cluster. I purchased it new in 1977. Yours is a 1978 build.

Being an Ambulance Pack doesn't necessarily mean hat it was used as an ambulance. As a matter of fact I've seen more of these that weren't used as ambulances, most have had factory alloy trays.

BO6 was the only official way to get a 308 in a HZ tonner. According to GMH docs they could be had in all standard drivelines except 308 manual. I've owned a white HZ one with buckets, 253 column auto, U17 dash and air and an Ultra blue HZ 308 TH400 column shift and U17 dash. A friend of mine had one new, Panama Green, 253 M20 and buckets. I have only ever seen one guaranteed HJ example, it was a 308 TH400. Probably seen others but didn't know what they were. Expected HJ sales were less than 100 per year when released, but I imagine by HZ they'd have been more widely known about and more popular than when first released in 1975.

Mick, if it is pre mid June 1978 build GMH will have records, but after that they won't.

Yes. If optioned with rag tyres they lost the RTS badges off the guards and dash. Probably still had all the same hardware, but without radial tyres they could hardly wear RTS badges! Will see if I can find the docs.

Hello again. Further to my enquiries, is there somewhere where I can find out what Holden dealer sold my tonner new?Its been in my family for roughly 10 years. It's been about town for as long as I can recall. It used to be a tow truck locally. I live in country NSW the tonner had its original plates when I got her. There is another Ambo Pack in town that was sold here new.
The Chev's engine no is QU40542-K0210H.
I'd like to know the worth of what I've got as I'd like to go back to a HK T G ute.
Cheers and thanks.

It's worth nothing more than any other tonner.

That's not quite true. The engine is worth really good $ to the owner of the original car.
