So 242 is HR Premier sedan with 186, powerglide and disc brakes? |

I'll adjust that, I think 242 is X2 engine with powerglide, disc brakes and maybe power steer. The 1 gets added for the 186S engine. |

242 is the insert, the car is Jade Mist Green with a white roof, disc brakes, power steering, Premier with tan interior
The INSERT line hadn't been used for its intended purpose (paint number for the insert i.e. side flash) since FB. In later models they used this now vacant line for other info like this model extension number. EH S4s had S4 stamped there for example. I do not have a full list of model extension codes & I'm not sure if 242 or 1242 includes power steer or not. Byron may have more on that. Dr Terry |

It does appear that 242 and 1242 are the same thing, only difference is one is an X2 and the other a 186S. I have no idea if both have steer or neither have steer of if power steering even enters into these codes. |

I have no idea on the power steer thing either, but this car might have dealer-fitted power/steer. They are a genuine kit, so properly fitted, it would be hard to pick. Given why they used this system (for ordering & allocating stock), they must have numbered the factory-fitted power/steer cars with a different number, otherwise why bother. Dr Terry |

So are the colours as same as the codes, Green Jade mist with white roof and Tan interior, not white Also the power steering was fitted after market by the original owner I have been told. Doe this car sound a bit dodgy? Edited by user Thursday, 6 June 2013 1:21:33 AM(UTC)

Terry would know better than me, but from the small list of HR codes I have at the moment the 242 car sound like an original X2 auto HR Premier. By the sounds of Terry's explanation for the paint combination code the white roof is either dealer painted or done later. Not an unusual thing to hapen either, Stacks painted the roof and flash on my old Pagewood 1957 Chevy, it left the assembly plant in Shannon Green all over. |

You are the man DR Terry, the Sea Mist Jade Prem was a bucket of s*** and the White with Red interior I had booked an inspection on a Wednesday because that's when the owner would be back form holiday and then he turned around and sold it on Tuesday!
This Savonnah Bronze one has only had 3 owners 78,000 miles so I will be buying it.............thanks once again for all you invaluable help.
