Hi Allen here as i need help
as i have just finish rebuilding
my hq stato v8 tri-matrc still
running 14" wheels but speedo
is out what colour drive would
i need with a 308-10 bolt diff
if can help would be helpful
thanks it works out at this time
i am about 10 miles out its when driving it
60 miles is arounded 45 miles an hour
that go by my satnav thanks talk soon

The more accurately you can determine the error, the more accurately you can solve the problem.
If, when travelling at 60 mph, your speedo indicates 45 mph, then you have a 25 percent error, it's reading to slow.
Remove your speedo cable gear from the trans & count the teeth.
The cable needs to spin 25 percent quicker to read correctly, so you'll need a gear with 25 percent less teeth.
Example: If your current gear has 24 teeth, 25 percent of 24 is 6, so try a gear with 18 teeth.
Keep in mind a few things, does your speedo head actually work correctly?
I believe there are different drive gears within the Trimatic that drive the speedo gear.
Combinations of the pairs of gears can give many different outputs to the speedo head. |

No me got brand new speedo its in MPH
it was also check by a speedo tech
to make sure it was right with aust standed
so will try other gear thanks |

I used a yellow 24 tooth driven gear for the same drivetrain/wheel combination as what you've got and my speedo is accurate within 2%. If you're planning on changing to a different width/profile tyre, it might be worth doing this first before correcting the speedo as you don't want to have to fix it twice.
It will be hard to get it reading perfect first driven gear change when it is so far out to start with. But if you can get it close using Utility8's method, ie within 3mph at 60mph, you can then go 1 tooth either way to correct it afterwards. At about $15-$20 for a driven gear, it is quite cheap to get an accurate speedo.
