I have a HG original 253 V8 it has the oil filler tube on the front of the block, as far as i know this is original and ide like to leave it this way, however under higher revs oil runs back up the tube and overflows....im sure others out there have had a similar experience and have a way of fixing this, any advise would be appreciated.

Couple of things to consider
1) Correct oil grade?
2) Not meaning to insult you, but it's not overfilled? (I've seen cases of the wrong dipstick causing over filling)
3)Is the engine in good shape- not excessive blowby causing crankcase over pressure?
4)PCV system working as it should?

I've never seen it done but no reason you couldn't fit a baffle to the tube.
Attn camry drivers. The accelerator is the skinny pedal on the right.

I have just re built the motor and installed a stage 4 cam in it, new lifter timing chain complete new se of heads etc it tends to happen now only under higher rev range but was also doing it when the engine was tired prior to the rebuild! I may need to look at the baffle like you said and was wondering if someone had done one before... Other options are to possibly install a relief somewhere else, as others have suggested there may be too much pressure in there now.
