Hi There, can anyone confirm when side intrusion bars were introduced. I always thought they started in HZ but looked at a 3/ 77 HX on weekend that had them and it looked original. Maybe they started midway through production of HX????

ADR29, introduced Jan 1977 but you'll find them fitted earlier to Holdens.

Thanks mate, that makes sence. They obviously had some warning so probably just introduced them straight up. So possibly all HX,s had them.

Not all HX, only passenger vehicles so sedan, coupe, wagon and Statesman. I'm not sure if they started at HX release or not though.

They could be HX coupe doors, or the bars could have been introduced in late HJ too.

My HJ coupe has them.
The driver side has it but cant remember if the passenger side has it....so my right door could be HX OR my left could be HQ...lol
