Hey guys. i took my VS 5L to the local mechanic as the fuel pump died. while on the hoist i ask him to do the front disc and pads. when i picked it up, the air bag dash light is on. I asked him what could it be, Now he was to get his "MATE" the auto sparky in to test the wiring circut and find the problem. it seems to be,i'll make his mate some money. is there anything i could look at to fix this air bag problem. Thanks guy

Light wasnt on when you dropped it off. Light was on when you picked it up. Sounds like it isnt your problem. Your mechanic can get his mate to look at it, but you shouldnt be paying a cent as it is obviously something that he has done. If he doesnt come to the party then get a new mechanic.

A basic vehicle diagnostic scanner that does most makes up to 2008 costs a few hundred dollars. It can scan and reset fault codes. A mechanic should have one if they do vehicles up to 2008. That's my opinion.

We don't have one at our work, but we do mostly 50's and 60's cars
