A rare bird by far pity about its condition but worth documenting http://www.ebay.com.au/i...trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649Edited by user Tuesday, 14 January 2014 3:33:25 AM(UTC)

Sorry to dredge up an old one but is this thing the real deal?
I could imagine the story of an extra optioned Brougham for the salesmen leaving the factory with MOnaro bolt-ons but I would think the electric sunroof would cause havoc on a production line. Were they even fitting electric sunroofs to any Aussie cars at that time? Or electric aerials for that matter?
Would it require a different loom for the dash as well?
If it's right it must be a super rare car
Pete

What I find interesting is that the doors, boot lid, roof and body all have "usual rust", yet the "factory fitted" Gts guards and bonnet are perfect.
Would be a cool car nonetheless if restored with all those options, but I think calling them factory fitted may be a bit of a stretch

Electric aerials were an option in HT, in the rear quarter I think.

Correct, HT onwards. Dr Terry |

My Brougham has the elec antenna option. Other options were T Bar, Bucket seats that recline elec windows power steering air con. Im into Broughams and have an HT with most of these options. The elec sunroof wasn't an option and the seat cloth was Brocade not herringbone. I recon the Brougham you looked at has been played around with as I don't know of the then flagship being available with GTS gaurds and bonnet.
All the best

Real car, I have a photo of it at the I think 1971 Adelaide motor show parked near the GTR-X. |
