My HT has a powerglide, and when I removed the drivetrain, I found I had a crudely modified rear crossmember with a number of spacers under the rubber mount. The modification was in the area of the mount which was cut out and lowered by about 35 mm. Now that I am reassembling, I have this and 2 other rear crossmembers: one from a manual HT which is unmodified and the other is a modified one (I picked up at a swap meet) supposedly for Turbo350 box which is also lowered in the area of the mount. My question is: which one, of the manual or T350, is the correct one to use? Is there a difference between the rear x-member for powerglide and manual?

Depends, there are about 10 x different HT crossmembers:

3spd M15 manual and 6cyl powerglide.
4spd M20 (6cyl).
4spd M21, M22 (6cyl).
4spd M21 253/308.
4spd M21 350.
Powerglide column shift 253/308.
Powerglide column shift 307.
Powerglide console shift 253/308.
Powerglide console shift 307/350.
Trimatic.

Some are very close to others, but there are minor differences. So which one you can use depends on whether you are talking 6cyl or V8 powerglide for starters.

Thanks HK1837, I didn't realize there were so many variations. I have a Chev v8, replaced the 307 with 327. It's a floor shift. I've seen Powerglide x-members for sale with photos which looked like the manual one I have from a 80369 column shift i.e. the gearbox mounting area is flush with the surrounding plate of the x-member.

THose are probably 6cyl Powerglide. Mount is very different to what you need. V8 ones sit further forward and down, as you can see by what they did to make one for yours. One used for a TH350 will be close to what you need for a V8 powerglide.
