Gday all, Wondering if anyone knows the purpose of the crossmember spacers where it bolts to the floor, on the 327/Saginaw setup. Most likely for clearance, but for where? Thanks Paul |

I was told it,s to space the tailshaft yoke down from the floor as it is close other option tailsaft angle? pete

It is interesting that the Powerglide uses one crossmember, but the V8 version has the spacers mentioned here + a step down adaptor at the front. The saginaw V8 usesthe same.
The real question should be why not make the step down that little bit more?
