Can anyone provide information of the set out details for the boot, bonnet and side stripes for a HK Monaro.
I understand the bonnet and boot stripes align with the GTS badges that are fitted to those panels. I have seen a template for top and side stripe widths. Is there more detailed info on the full installation of all of these stripes and the black paint finish that is used ie. flat or gloss finish.
Also is there a set out template for positioning the side stripes. I would be interested to know the way these stripes were applied when these cars where made and is the current way of applying the stripes the same.

If you send me an email I can send you a scan of the original Engineering detail for the stripes.

I'm almost certain the stripes and blackouts are a satin finish as per most other Holdens. The stripes were applied in the finishing area post vehicle assembly at Pagewood and as far as I am aware the other assembly plants were the same. The only ones with gloss stripes are the HT GTS's with Gold stripes, these were applied in the body plant as the stripe paint is metallic and required gloss over it. Pagewood and Dandenong painted the front panels with the body in the body plant, whereas Elizabeth painted the front panels as an assembly plant process. Not relevant to HK though as the paint being a solid it went on after paint (and gloss on metallics).
