 This Diff is in a 1952 FX. Just wondering what the three "adjusting bolts" are around the housing? Also engine number "V572182P" would be a Police issued number for a replacement engine?

Yes, from 1957 if the number system used then was the same as used in the 80's and 90's. |

V572182P = May 1972 the 182th Vic police ID for that year.
Never seen a diff like that.
Can't EH on Banjo diffs go into the EJ to XJ ?

The date code cast on the block is E227.
This would be May 22nd. 1957 or 1967?
Couldn't be any later as car was last reg. 1973.

So back then Victorian Police used V5xxxxxP ? If I read it like the way it was done in the 80's and 90's it is the 2182nd Vic Police issued number in 1957.
Date code can't be later than '67 as it uses US format. |

The adjustable diffs were on the very early FX. (I have one sitting in my shed) Edited by user Saturday, 13 December 2014 9:10:54 AM(UTC)

How does the adjustment work? Aligns the pinion I assume? |
