guy I know was asking this on another forum as he saw a canadian TV show with a LHD HX wagon in it. Did they ever make and exort a LHD HX? (Or HJZ) The pics are crappy and not worth uploading. This is what he posted. LHD Holden HX query Hi to all I am trying to find out about a LHD Holden (not a Commodore) I saw on a Canadian TV show, see attached images. The steering wheel is on the left and the wiper arms opposite to our market is obvious throughout the video My mate in the Chevy Club said they were Chev arcadians based on a Chevelle but this looks nothing like an early or late Chevelle? I rang GMH Customer care but they couldn't help and put me onto the Holden Forum but it has been hacked or something because it won't acknowledge registration attempts or accept emails (only curry recipe uploads?). I recorded the car segments onto DVD and took still these shots with my camera. Any information or advice on where to get it is appreciated. AFAIK the LHD Holden exports finished with HG, it was a decision that many disagreed with. Other GMH product was exported LHD after that (like Torana) but no Holdens. |

I saw the snapshots on another Forum. Looking closely the Premier badge is mirrored (backwards) so my guess is the whole scenes of film are reversed negatives. |

Thanks for that.
But yeah, looking at the image it does kinda look like it is backwards.

Slightly OT, but I did see pics of a LHD HQ 2 dr online. The pic hadn't been reversed, as you could clearly see the accelerator pedal was near the trans tunnel.
No underhood pics alas. No reason it can't be done though. |
Attn camry drivers. The accelerator is the skinny pedal on the right. |

No Holdens past HG, only Torana. HK's went to Hawaii as LHD. |

I meant to add that it was a conversion, I knew there were no factory LHD HQs |

You can see the LHD LH's in the parts catalogues, shows the 3spd Saginaw box used. |

A family member posted a picture she took in Trinidad, Cuba in 1976 with a HQ in the background. Strange thing is there is no mention of HQ's going to South America and it seems unplausable as it is LHD and the US is only a stones throw away. The closest ive heard of the cars going is Hawaii. To top it off, she is holding a birds nest that fell, made by a bird native to Cuba. Cars are not an interest of hers, so she would of been none the wiser. HQ's are around $4000-6000 in South Africa at the moment, almost at a shipping worthy price. Edited by user Friday, 20 February 2015 2:45:31 PM(UTC)

Trinidad is not part of Cuba, it is a small country just off the coast of Venezuela which was until the early 60s a British colony. Its full name is Trinidad & Tobago.
I'm not sure if they are a LHD or RHD country, but for a while they actually had a GM-H CKD assembly plant there. That's right GM-H, not GM.

I think Jamaica eas a British Colony and is RHD. There are also 2 x northern South American RHD countries
I just looked on Wiki and there are heaps of RHD islands in that area, probably all the Caribbean countries that compete at the Commonwealth Games. No wonder GMH had an assembly plant there! The 2 x countries on the South American continent probably got GMH product as well. |

There is also a small city called Trinidad, on the island of Cuba. Cuba is (or was) like a time capsule of old American cars, as it has been under an embargo preventing US companies from dealing with it since the missile crisis of 1960. Great photo, and thanks for sharing it.

Being an HQ & most likely RHD, would that be in Trinidad (the small town in Cuba, a LHD country) or Trinidad (the country). Dr Terry |

Aarons post does specify Cuba, twice. Hopefully he can confirm it. I wonder if this Austin is LHD? http://www.bunniktours.c...up-Tours/Cuban-Discovery

Over the years Rare Spares has shipped worldwide. We had a number of customers in Barbados and other West Indies islands. The possibility of a HQ in Cuba is quite possible. Some cars were sent to Australian Embassies. Even today parts go to USA customers and many in the UK with all models including Commodores.

Sorry, Terry is right. I did ask her to specify as she had spent time in most of the islands including Granada and Cuba, and it was the country and not the city in Cuba, that she was in when the pic was taken. Found a listing for Trinidad and Tobago under the Export section of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holden_Kingswood
Here's an example for $15,000AUD http://www.trinidad-cars...ad-Cars/Sedans/1640.htmlEdited by user Saturday, 21 February 2015 6:09:30 AM(UTC)
