Hello all,

I have a T700 transmission inmy car and it appeared to be leaking where the tailshaft goes in.
I replaced the seal and now no leak, until I apply power around the 60-80 k and then smoke comes out the back, (transmission oil spraying onto exhaust from rear seal)
Does anybody have any idease what may be the cause of this?

Thank you all.
cheers Dave

sure its still spraying out? can take a whike for the old oil to burn off, or try giving a sqirt with the garden hose?
there is a situation sometimes where a faulty modulator (i think) allows the vacuum to suck transmission fluid into the engine and cause a lot of smoke, is the smoke coming from under the car or out of the exhaust? get someone to drive behind and see.
doesn't take much oil to make a lot of smoke .

Had a HZ with a turbo 400. Did a long trip on the freeway and smoke (lots of it)coming out the back of the car. Pulled over, everything sounded ok, no red lights on. Seem to recall that the transmission had blown fluid out a breather onto the exhaust. I had overfilled the trans fluid. Car was fine after that.

Thanks for the replys,
My mate followed me and said smoke coming from under car and not exhaust.
Good tip to check transmission oil level, as I may have overfilled it when I first noticed oil on exhaust pipe.
Thanks Dave.
