Melbourne built HQ Kingswood V8 sedan, painted Gunmetal Grey with Red vinyl & Houndstooth trim. |
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |

Yes, pretty scarce. I think they were a trim insert and sports dash. I have a brochure somewhere. |

I've only ever seen one, it is Saffron 253 and I think column auto with bench seat. Has the hounstooth B&W inserts if I remember right. A forum member here owns it. |

They are an interedsting look, with the full bench, front and rear, in houdstooth. Have not seen too many over the years.
They came with 6 or V8 from memory. Do not think they got the sports intruments.

I'm sure they had either U21 instruments or the triple guage. Dr Terry will know. |

Guys, I'm stunned. I'd never heard of an HQ 'sports' pack before, but as it turns out, I actually own one.
One of my 'fleet' is a 1973 HQ L32/M40 Kingswood sedan in Saffron Metallic, & has Flax bench seats with Houndstooth inserts & a U21 instrument cluster. It's also nicely optioned with a 13 transistor, power aerial & rear speaker with fader etc. etc.
I note that Warren lists a 'sports' trim for HQ in his book, but is there more to it ?

Yours is the car I was talking about Terry, I didn't realise you didn't know what it was! I'll send you the sales material when I find it. |

Sorry guys I have been off the air since my post. I have just flown to Melbourne and bought one and drove it back to the hunter valley Apparently the roof lining , sun visor holders are unique to the sports as well I have a copy of the flyer that HK1837 is speaking of as well Apparently the was only 85 made, although we can't 100% confirm that The guy who owned mine worked in the factory as they were going through and was telling him about it Happy days Edited by user Sunday, 22 February 2015 11:26:18 PM(UTC)
