Does anyone know what this part is called off the Saginaw shifter on a HT and do they make them repro?

Do you mean the whole shift mechanism? Photo is a bit close to tell what you are referring to. If so they are a Camaro part, Rare Spares were importing them.

Rare Spares part 3922514 is the Saginaw shifter and is a regular stock line available now.

This is the reverse lock out spring. The one shown is the later HG type, the early HK/HT type has an orange plastic cover. as shown here http://www.567chevyclub....Camaro/Sag_Shifter3.jpg )

Hello Ian.

As Warren says, there are two types. The early shifter is 3922514, used on HK and earlier HT, and the second type is 3983372, used on later HT and HG.
As you can see from the below excerpt from the HT parts catalogue there are two types of reverse lever lockout. (The shifter is called "lever and bracket")
Holden serviced the early one as a repair kit, M36990 and the later one as a complete assembly, 3984548.
If its just the reverse lockout you need you might find one in the US.

Question for Warren. Did you have to modify the shifter to suit the later lockout? I thought they were larger, and holes needed to be enlarged?

Too long ago Geoff, I had plenty of shifters and bits back in the 80s/90s. I may have changed the whole thing. Although I rmember pulling them apart etc, so may have only chnaged the lock out.

Thanks, exactly what I was after- could get to love this site. I have taken mine apart as shown in one of those links but it is way too notchy when engaging reverse. As I am a complete newby to the GM side of things, any ideas who/where in the US I should start with to find one?
