Hi all, I've got a XE alloy head 250 x-flo and have just instaled a 350 holley on it ( wish someone warned me bout clearin the intake manifold bolts with the adaptor plate, lol). It has a flat spot just as I put the boot into it. It's ok just cruising and once past the initial flat spot gets up and goes. What jet size is good for a 250, the 350 came off a 253 h****n V8 so I thought it might b ok. Could it mean I need to run a re-build kit through it cause it could be the pump inside? Also while I'm posting, anyone live in tassie have a cheap 250 short motor for sale?
THANKS HEAPS

Yeah true but the holley flows more, and with the addition of the adaptor plate, which ended up being abot 1 1/2 inches thick, to increase plenum volume, the power comes on a bit higher and lasts longer. Also I'm now doing about 250RPM less down the highw

I've also priced a set of mains and big ends, sump gasket and front and rear crank seals for $150. Should fix my low oil pressure at idol, or is there a common problem with oil pumps in 250 X-flows?

Well, a couple of things. If the flat sport is just after you "put the boot in" then the accelerator pump is fine. Don't worry about jets either. You probably have very good vaccuum and the power valve is not opening early enough! Most Holley c
