Hi all, what are the advantages/disadvantages for the 2 types of O2 sensor? ie which ones better, the 4 wire or the single wire.
Anyone know why Holden changed over?

Hi Dre,
i believe the single wire ones are heated by exhaust gas, and the multiple wires are self heating.. heating up quicker will give u more accurate readings sooner after start up Im assuming.

Ahhhh, excellent, thought there must be a reason why they changed.
Ok, next question, can a computer for a 1 wire control a 4 wire O2 sensor? is it just a change in wiring or more than that?

They fall into 2 main types heated & un-heated. The 1 & 2 wire are un-heated & the 3 & 4 wire are heated. The 2 wire is the same as a 1 wire but with a seperate si

Thanks for the info. I cant actually leave it as it is as I'm talking about the 308 in my kingswood (which I am in the process of putting an EFI manifold in place of the quad etc).
I have the bung in my extractors for an O2 sensor, so I'll just u
