I’m having some problems with my VL commodore. It has a 6-cylinder EFI motor and has started to loose power occasionally. I first noticed it about 2 weeks ago going up a hill. Since then I have noticed it to loose power occasionally (only about 10 – 15 times) when I takeoff. I have recently replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter, and checked fuel pressure the other day, which was fine. Any suggestions on what could be causing this appreciated.

With all troubleshooting, do the simplist and cheapest things first.

In your case right now ! Replace the leads.

Well if it's anything like the problem I'm having with my astra, keep the air con on and that should keep it from losing power. That's what I've resorted to doing at the moment.

i agree with john, replace the leads plugs etc. Check the spark? Does it only happen when hot or cold?

Have a look at the computer (behind the passenger's kickpanel), turn the screw/adjuster to the right (I think) and turn the ignition on. It will flash at you, count the number of flashes of the red and green diode (from memory red is 10's and green is one

Checking the codes is your easiest option as Dave has suggested.
However, there is a procedure for checking them that you need to carry out....no good just going to diagnostic mode and looking at them there blinkin lights!!!
Either get a VL manual, or l

Getting the VL wagon straight back on the Road.
Running a little late to catch the interisland ferry we managed to lose the rear window when the BBQ gas bottle pushed it out on a tight right hander. We found the glass still intact on the roadside and sa
