Hi John,
Not really an antenna guy but if you are simply asking about a TV antenna then I can offer this. Had problems with bad reception for years (no SBS etc) then fitted a "masthead amplifier" to pre-existing antenna. Got crystal clear

Thanks Paul I am a bit dubious about having mains power go up the antenna.
I will look at one if it is the last chance. We have been givena DVD/VCR combo for Christams (given a DVD player actually but could not plug it in to our TV so took it back, got r

My masthead amp is a GME KINGRAY MHW34GP which Jaycar actually sell for $90 - (Cat. No. LT-32.90, $89.50, page 295 of 2004 catalogue). You can also get these from TV installers a bit cheaper sometimes. There is no mains power going to the ant

Funnily enough I have that page open in front of me now. I see the one you mention. Although I see there is a unit for 2 tvs, I might get that one as the tv in the kids room needs a boost too.

Be careful of using the Jaycar Kingray booster with a W in the part number. This boosts both UHF and VHF. Normally VHF stations will have good signals and if you boost them you will swamp the UHF channels. Kingray sell a unit with the same part number, bu

The best thing to do is speak to antenna people in your area. Each location will have different solutions to problems. In Wollongong you only need a UHF antenna for the local stations, in Sydney you may need both UHF and VHR or you can get away with only

Ring Hills (in Guildford Rd Bayswater if I remember rightly) or the Antenna Man, they should be able to tell you what antenna you need...even if you just get them out to give you a quote...

I don't specialise in antennas but deal with them a little. I'm a tv repair man. It all depends as to if your 7, sbs and abc are on vhf or uhf. Using a masthead amp won't fix the problem if you are already recieving too much signal. All vcrs have an inbui
