Does anybody know of a rack and pinion set up for my HZ. i want to use a early c'dore rack.i called castlemaine rod shop and their racks uses LJ torana.i once owned an LJ and they are nightmare to steer with the rack on the front of the cross member with the wheels folding under like they do.

Hi Jamie.


On the LC/LJ Toranas it's not the steering rack causing the incorrect steering angles, it's the suspension design itself.


Part of the problem is that the 'Ackerman'`angle wasn't set-up properly when the wheelbase was lengthened from

Hi Jamie.


Rack & pinion steering is no lighter than a box, it's all a matter of what ratio the gearing & linkage is.


If you go rack & pinion, you have to go power steer anyway, so just fit a power box.
