Interested to know if anyone could tell me on my hx wagon why the fuse for instr lights/brake lights blows when I pull on the headlight switch!!. All these lights work ok on their own until the above situation arises. I have replaced the headlight switch but the problem is still there. I have a multimeter, how can I test for resistance etc. I figure it may be an autoelec job but nothing has been done to the vehicle. The fault appears to have come out of nowhere...Thanks

Bit hard to tell exactly what’s going on remotely, but I suspect it may have something to do with the double-filament globes used in the brake/tail lights - that's the only obvious light on the face of it. These globes can do funny things if

Also check that someone hasn't put a single filament bulb in the brake/tail-light dual filament holders...had this problem when I bought the Qute...

If you haven't changed any bulbs for the problem to have started as mentioned below.
Have you got towbar wiring? this can often be the source of many woes.
