Hey, I just wanted some feed back on this idea. Can the EFI 4.0 SOHC head be fitted to early model 250 X-flo heads. Obviously I would have to modify the original crank for a timing pulley, I'd possibly go belt driven instead of chain. Can it be done, are the head bolts simmilarly possitioned?

Wont a belt slip if you use it instead of a timing chain tho?

No, timing belts are similar to glimmer drive belts and run a sprocket type gear and a belt with teeth. All I need to know is if the head studs and chyamber spacing will be similar

That would have been Krogdahl (sp?) Engineering. I think that they cost about $5000 a go though.

Yer I read about them in SM aswell, I'm only asking this question because I've got an engine of each, I'm rebuilding the 250 x-flo as the OHC 4.0i put a leg outta bed and I can't be bothered fixing the hole in the block. Being the same capacity i thought

At a guess I would say that Ford left the bore spacing & head stud placing the same. I am basing this on the theory that they could not even be bothered to move the distributor to a decent location when they went OHC so why would they waste money on chang

The thought never even crossed my mind to compare head gaskets. Cheers. I thought the studs might be diferent because they have to clear the cam instead of rockers but I havent looked so I hope your right.I'm getting another 250 block next week off a mate

I can't put all the OHC engine in beacause it got a gut full of water one day when a road was slightly flooded, and last time I checked water don't compress!

Result; One shattered piston
One bent conrod
And one hell of a hole in the
